We may be able to run a Summer Camp for Boys this year. More details to come.

Are RGA gymnast smarter than most?  The answer is obviously yes, with no less than four RGA gymnasts competing last weekend at the annual British Universities Championships which we hosted for the eighth year running, right here at the Gymnastics Centre in Aldershot.

This year the entry was massive with 361 competitors from as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Exeter.

With Amber Try (Bath) and Rebecca Parramore (Birmingham) both picking up medals in the prestigious FIG section, Amber a Bronze on Bars and Rebecca a Silver for her floor exercise. Rebecca also won a  Silver for Birmingham in the team event.

In the Floor and Vault competition, a very happy Lucy Andrews (Exeter) had a clean sweep coming first on both Floor, Vault and the overall championships.  Lucy’s sister Harriet is also at University but did not enter this year.  Next year Harriet?

In the men’s Grade 2 championship Alex Huppert (London) finished just out of the overall medals in 4th place while gathering a Bronze on P. Bars along the way.  A very successful weekend for the RGA in both the results and the organization of what has become a massively popular event.

It just goes to show that you can combine a high flying academic career with a sporting lifestyle!

Congratulations to Eleanor Cox who took her Level 3 Elite Compulsory grade at Abingdon on Sunday 13th November. She passed successfully with a score of 52.7. There were only three girls competing in this competition as it's extremely difficult to reach this level. This means she is well on her way to qualifying to the British Championships in two years time.
